Site visits Belfast

This year our partner Inspire Belfast organizes site visits to three different places:

a) Dual Diagnosis: Supported independent living for mental health and intellectual disability

Peter’s Hill provides supported living accommodation on the edge of Belfast City Centre.  Inspire staff at Peters Hill promote and maximise the independence of young people and adults with learning disabilities and/or mental health issues. Peter’s Hill provides care and support for 13 young people and adults in single self-contained flats.

Venue: Inspire Supported Independent Living, Peters Hill, Belfast- (max 10 people)

b) Mental health, addiction and criminal justice.

Addiction NI, part of the Inspire Group, is working in partnership with the NI Probation Board to pilot Northern Irelands first Substance Misuse Courts. The Substance Misuse Court Programme focuses on interventions which target factors that lead individuals to crime.

Inspires Forensic Mental Health Service offers an innovative supported accommodation and community outreach service.  Inspire staff offer a range of community based support services to tenants with forensic mental health in a recovery focused environment.

Venue:  Inspire Community Resilience Centre, Lombard St, Belfast (20 people)

c) Creating a recovery focused wellbeing community

Millburn Close is an Inspire Wellbeing Housing scheme in partnership with Habinteg Housing and support from Belfast Health & Social Care Trust. Staff from Inspire provide 24 hour support for Service Users within their own homes. Millburn Close currently accommodates 20 Service Users between the age of 18 and over. The scheme opened in 2009 and has given the opportunity to support the wellbeing and recovery of Service Users on their resettlement journey from long stays in hospital or more intensive support facilities.

This model of support provides an opportunity for Service Users to avail of a range of activities within the scheme and local community such as gardening groups, art groups and health & wellbeing groups including cycling walking and local leisure facilities.

Venue: Millburn Close Belfast (max 20 people)

The visits start at 13:15 and end at 15:30 on Thursday.
